Installing Active Directory Users and Computers and Group Policy Management on Windows Server 2012
Managing Active Directory and group policy might be a bit obscure, because the remote server administration tools is installed on Windows 7 and 8 of the premise. In 2012 the server there is no separate installation of RSAT tool, you just have to know where to look. Lucky was that it proved consistent by adding/removing a role and function as part of the Windows Server operating system. I like role-based devices because it greatly simplifies the installation process, provide a list of the native functionality of your server by allowing you to choose what you want to install it manually after the fact to keep the installation is minimal.
To obtain the Active Directory users and computers, you need to ensure that the installation is just the tool you need, not your entire domain on the Server service. That is, unless you want your server to a domain controller.
Opened by clicking the server administrator icon is pinned to the taskbar or right-click the computer and go to manage. In the upper right corner of the window, go to the Manage menu, click Add roles and features.
From there, you will go through a Wizard dialog box. Follow the on-screen instructions to install on the server you want to configure. Selection is based on roles or features installed and select your server.
Unless there are other roles you want to install, skip the server role, and the next call to function.
On the features page, check group policy management tools.
Description reads: group policy management is a scriptable Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in for the entire management strategy provides a single set of management tools. Group Policy management is the standard tool for managing group policy.
The next little bit->AD DS and remote server administration tools role Administration Tools, and AD LDS tools scroll and check those boxes, especially the AD DS snap-ins and command-line tools.
Description read: snap-ins and command-line tools to Active Directory domain services includes Active Directory users and computers, Active Directory domains and trusts, and Active Directory site and Services snap-ins and command-line tools for remotely managing Active Directory domain controllers.
You want you can also choose other tools like Active Directory administrative center, but it will get only Active Directory users and computers, check box in AD DS snap-ins and command-line tools.
Make sure you select, Setup to do its work.
